With August coming to an end, it means that fall is right around the corner in Broomfield, CO. As kids go back to school, coffee shops offer pumpkin spice lattes, and the wind and chilly weather picks up next month, there are some things you need to check off before the cool weather. Your car endured the summer heat, and it needs to recover.
Heat can put a heavy strain on your tires, wipers, battery, and more. That is why at Rocky Mountain Car Care, we recommend bringing your car to our auto service shop for an end-of-summer inspection. Here are some of the items we will inspect and service:
Tires - At our shop, we can measure your tire pressure to make sure they’re properly inflated. Plus, we can take a look at your tread depth. They need to be 2/32 inch or more to grip the road properly. You can also check this by doing the penny test at home.
Battery - Your car battery is one of those components that suffer the most during the summer. You should open your hood and check to see if there is corrosion sitting on the battery. If so, give it a good wipe down. Our shop can test your battery for a proper charge.
Windshield Wipers - Windshield wiper blades should be swapped out every 6-12 months. If it has been a while since your last replacement, it is better safe than sorry to replace them now.
Belts & Hoses - Our professional mechanics can check out your belts and hoses to ensure your car’s many different systems run seamlessly throughout the year.
Lights - Cooler weather also means earlier sunsets. As it gets dark out quicker, we can test your vehicle’s lights to make sure they are properly lit.
It can be bittersweet with the summer wrapping up, but there are plenty of fun things waiting for you in the last half of the year. If you need help inspecting these components above, please bring your car, SUV, or truck to the vehicle experts at Rocky Mountain Car Care. We look forward to seeing you!
